Dr Alex Ankomah has completed a dual Masters program in Public Health and Infectious diseases Intelligence at the University of New South Wales, building on his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and MBChB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.

Alex is an Australia awards scholar with keen research interests in infectious disease modelling and sexual & reproductive health issues. His current research work focuses on global efforts towards the development of pandemic-focused vaccine development.

Prior to joining PCR, Alex supported the South Eastern Sydney Public Health Unit as a volunteer contact tracer as part of the NSW COVID-19 response and brings with him many years of experience in clinical work and maternal healthcare delivery from his time living and working in Ghana, a low-resource setting bedevilled with many neglected tropical diseases and significant maternal and reproductive health challenges.
