Policy Cures Research, a not-for-profit research and policy organisation which informs many of the most influential decision-makers in global health, has today announced that it has a new name: Impact Global Health.

Most well-known for providing the gold-standard database of global health R&D funding, G-FINDER, Impact Global Health has, in recent years, added comprehensive datasets of products in use or in the R&D pipeline to tackle global health priorities and women’s health conditions which affect millions of lives every year. The organisation uses this rich, unique evidence base to analyse risks and returns, reveal critical R&D gaps and opportunities and model scenarios to predict the future of innovation for global health, as well as its health, economic and societal impact.

A powerful counsel to those who fund research, set policies and develop products

A powerful counsel to those who fund research, set policies and develop products, Impact Global Health combines a meticulously built dataset of the R&D funding and product development landscape with clear analyses of implications and expert recommendations. This aids private, public and philanthropic funders of biomedical developments to advance global and women’s health. Under its previous name of Policy Cures Research, the organisation launched a milestone report assessing the health and economic impact of global health R&D in May 2024, which found that every dollar invested returned $405 in health and economic benefit to society. That analysis was only possible by bringing together the organization’s unique combination of data, insights and tools which it will continue to leverage to help unlock the tough challenges of a world hugely inequitable in its health outcomes.

Dr Nick Chapman
“We are rightfully proud of the fact that we have the expertise and the tools to help policy makers, funders and product developers navigate the complex landscape of innovation for global health; to identify gaps, substantiate claims, find answers and chart courses of action for the greatest impact,”

said Dr Nick Chapman, CEO of Impact Global Health.

“Changing our name to Impact Global Health more accurately reflects our intentions and our influence. Just in the next month alone we have some insightful analyses about to come out on emerging infectious diseases, monoclonal antibodies, and a new online women’s health hub that looks at the gender bias in R&D. We’re here to impact global health, and we’re energetic and excited about the future.”

The organisation’s datasets, insights and reports, toolkits and news are free to access at www.impactglobalhealth.org. Those wanting to be kept abreast of the latest developments and reports can sign up to Impact Global Health’s mailing list and follow the team on LinkedIn.
