Location: Remote - preferably based in Australia, Europe, or Africa.
The successful candidate will work from home/ fully remote, or hybrid if based in Sydney where our head office is located. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly and attend meetings outside of traditional core working hours, accommodating international time zones.
Terms: Two year fixed-term full-time contract, with the potential for a permanent position contingent upon funding availability and demonstrated performance.
Salary: Compensation package will be dependent on country of residence. AUD 170-175,000, GBP 82-84,000, CHF 92-95,000 per annum plus statutory benefits.

Our Story
Impact Global Health (formerly Policy Cures Research) is a trusted, non-profit global health research and policy organisation. We are an essential partner to those aiming to positively impact historically neglected and underfunded health issues. Renowned for generating global health R&D funding data through our flagship G-FINDER project, we also provide comprehensive biomedical innovation pipeline data, health and economic impact analyses, and influential engagement in high-level global health forums.
Our focus is on historically underfunded health issues, including poverty-related neglected diseases, emerging infectious diseases, and sexual and reproductive health issues. Position overview and candidate profile
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Analyst to join our Research and Analysis (R&A) team. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for leading the implementation of discrete projects or components of projects related to understanding the landscape of R&D funding and product development for global health, spanning the full breadth of our areas of focus, including neglected diseases, emerging infectious diseases, and women’s health and sexual and reproductive health. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in policy research and analysis, extensive knowledge of the landscape of global health innovation, the ability to draw meaningful insights out of complex data, and the ability to articulate these insights in a way that both informs and resonates with policymakers and other key stakeholders. This role requires a seasoned professional with exceptional analytical and writing skills, strong project management experience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment.
As a Senior Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing our research initiatives across various projects. You will report to the Director of Research and manage 1-2 analysts in the team. Collaboration with other teams within the organisation will be integral to your role. This position offers the flexibility of remote work and requires a self-starter who can operate with limited supervision.
Key responsibilities
Research and Analysis - Lead report development
- Conduct in-depth research on global health R&D, spanning the full breadth of our areas of focus, including neglected diseases, emerging infectious diseases, and women’s health and sexual and reproductive health.
- Perform funding and pipeline analyses to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in global health investments
- Play a key role in conceptualising, writing, producing, launching and disseminating Impact Global Health’s portfolio of analysis reports, ensuring high-quality, impactful analysis, timely delivery and meaningful uptake.
- Coordinate contributions from various teams, including data collection, analysis, and review processes.
Research and Analysis - Data analysis
- Utilise advanced analytical tools and methodologies to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
Research and Analysis - Content development and quality assurance
- Produce high-quality written content, including reports, executive summaries, and policy briefs.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity in all published materials.
- Oversee the editing and proofreading process to maintain the highest standards of publication.
- Collaborate with the communications team to enhance the reports' visibility and impact.
Project Management
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within scope and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, set milestones, and manage resources effectively.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams across the organisation.
- Monitor project progress and implement adjustments as necessary to achieve objectives.
External Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, policymakers, researchers, and advocacy groups.
- Represent Impact Global Health at international conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Facilitate discussions and collaborations that advance the organisation's mission and goals.
- Communicate complex research findings clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences.
Position requirements
Essential
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medicine, Biosciences, Global Health, Health Policy, Health Economics, or a related field with strong health policy training.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in Global Health with a strong quantitative focus.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, analytical skills and strategic thinking, including the ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw data, with outstanding attention to detail.
- Strong writing skills and ability to communicate professionally and concisely with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Direct line management experience.
- Proven project and people management skills, with an ability to successfully design and deliver projects at the head of a small team.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organisation with shared responsibilities and flexibility in undertaking tasks as needed.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills and good knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.
Strongly preferred
- Direct experience or in-depth knowledge of R&D as it relates to global health.
- Knowledge of the global health policy/funder landscape.
- Existing global health and/or global health R&D stakeholder and industry networks.
- Proven track record in R&D funding and pipeline analysis within the global health sector.
